Tusk Screen

An entryway divider screen for a large basement den in Napa. Built for Von Saal Design Build.  Because the screen was suspended between the floor and ceiling and visible from both sides it had to be strong. Each hexagon was independently built with multiple tenons. Subsequent details were layered on and the honeycomb pattern was cut to fit in a thick timber frame. 

The screen was finished in pearl white and gold leaf.
