Enterprise Low Table
This slab low table resembles the fabled starship in form and function. The design is an exploration of frontiers in engineering and materials. It is daring in its geometry - the single, angled pedestal base floats the hefty salvaged walnut top over the brushed copper lower shelves. The top is a salvaged bastogne walnut slab, uber dense but with incredible grain character: varying from the grey and brown grain on one side to the undulating beige ribbon striping on the other. Copper is a complementary metal companion to walnut. The challenge, in this case, was to display the copper in a way that does not draw attention away from the slab top. Hence, the the matte brushed finish and the playful walnut stitches joining the two metal shelves.
A table that is both angular and delicate and playful in its character. Strong with the perception of lightness. A mixing of materials and styles - a true woodworking enterprise.
