Combo Special End Table
Why is a plate lunch the perfect meal? Because it is simple. It is balanced: meat, rice, mac salad. You can take it anywhere and despite its humble appearance, is packed with flavor and awesome.
The Combo Special End Table strives to maintain the same austere tradition of the Hawaiian plate lunch. With only four main parts representing the partitioned plate, chopsticks and napkin, the table is still balanced in its design and complex in its geometries. The table is a flat pack design, meaning it is shipped disassembled to save the customer excessive shipping costs and to reduce transportation harms. Rigorous testing on each piece ensures that assembly will be a breeze, not requiring more than a few steps.
This prototype table was built with salvaged California Delta oak. The pedestal section was painted with oyster white milk paint, an antique finish, and the entire piece was sprayed with a semi-gloss water based polyurethane to ensure durability while reducing environmental harms.
