The Boyce Butler Table
I am calling it a Butler Table. I dare say most of us have foregone the luxury if a live-in butler, let alone a temp-butler - there to graciously open the door, take your coat, politely inquire about your day, and bring you up to speed on the goings on in your household.
The Butler Table is the next best thing. It is there to return civility to a forgotten portal into a house or apartment whose only adornment is, all to often, a crusty mat overflowing with mismatched footwear. This Butler Table is made of figured cherry - a wood that is both traditional in its New England roots and flamboyant with wavy ribbon striping and pink hue. Multi-tapered “ballerina” legs convey lightness with strength. Taper details along the top and angled splits in the top and lower shelf suggest movement into the room - welcoming you home.
